Where would we be without clean water? It is a sad fact that many people take their limitless clean water access for granted. When we need a drink of life-sustaining water, we simply run to the tap. Each day, many people turn on the shower and clean themselves with refreshing, clean water. Our society has come to expect water that is safe for consumption and everyday use. We do not view this luxury as a privilege but as a right.
There are places in the world where clean water is not easy to come by. In fact, you may be surprised to learn
that the number of individuals without access to clean water is estimated around 1.1 billion. Just try and imagine that more than one sixth of all the people in the world can not obtain clean water on a whim.
Water is a vital part of being a living creature. Just like the earth, a majority of our bodies consist of water. Without it, we would only be able to survive for three to four days. That means anyone who does not have easy access to clean water must constantly be searching for it.
For those of us who use taps, toilets, and bath tubs on a daily basis, it is hard to imagine what life would be like to remain three to four days from death if no water is found.
Finding water is only the first part of the problem. Some water sources are not clean and may be contaminated with bacteria. Our water is generally well cleaned and purified so that the end result is safe to consume. That is not always the case for those who must search for the water that we feel is our right.

Lack of clean water leads to yet another complication: food production. Basic food sources require water. Have you ever heard of a farmer growing crops without water? It is impossible because just like us, plants also need water to survive. That means that for 1.1 billion people in the world, locating two of the most basic components to sustain life is extremely difficult.
The Sea Bird plans to help these suffering people find reliable access to clean water and you can help. Education is important and the very first step in coming up with a solution. We invite you to provide your support through your knowledge as well as your abilities. We encourage interactive education programs so contact us to put together a program.
